What's the difference between OLED and LCD?

Views: 581 Update date: May 30,2022

Firstly, LED products are mainly used in backlight, color screen and indoor lighting. Because backlight is the largest application market of LED in recent years, which drives the rapid growth of LED industry. In the future, the indoor lighting will replace the backlight LED segment with the fastest growth under the influence of the falling product price and the new round of global ban on incandescent lamps.

OLED diode organic light emitting diode (OLED) This technology uses organic polymers as semiconductor materials in light emitting diodes. The display technology has the characteristics of self illumination, using very thin organic material coating and glass substrate. When the current passes through, these organic materials will emit light. The OLED display screen has a large viewing angle, which can save electricity.

Its luminous principle is to emit white light from the backlight layer, and then add a layer of color film on the white backlight layer to control the light passing rate of each pixel point through the current, so as to control the color of pixels. LCD screen is composed of backlight layer and liquid crystal measurement, which can not completely cover black and white light, more or less there will be some light leakage, and the screen thickness is relatively thick. However, LCD screen has low power consumption, natural and accurate screen color, eye protection function, mature technology and low cost.

OLED screen is called organic light-emitting diode, which uses very thin organic material coating and glass substrate and has self luminous function. OLED screen is very light, with the characteristics of folding and bending. It is called "flexible screen". When displaying the black interface, it does not emit light at all. The color display has high chroma, wide color gamut and high contrast. It is worth noting that OLED strobe appears on the screen. The lower the brightness, the more serious the strobe. It is harmful to eyes when used in dark light. Another point is that if the OLED screen burns out, the service life of the screen will be shortened.
